How We Work
Fasting & Praying the Watches
Our Call
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ
I come before you with a heart full of gratitude and obedience to the call that God has placed on my life. As we gather together, I want to share a powerful invitation from the Lord — an invitation to embark on a journey of fasting and prayer, focusing on the 24-hour dry fast on the first of every month, where we dedicate ourselves to praying through all the spiritual watches.
Why, you might ask, would God call us to such a profound act of obedience? The answer is simple: God desires to draw us closer to Himself. He longs for us to align our hearts with His will, to become vessels of His power, and to experience the transformation that comes through intentional prayer and fasting. Each watch represents a unique moment of communion with the Lord — a moment to ask, seek, and knock on the door of heaven. When we dedicate ourselves to praying through these watches, we are stepping into a rhythm of intimacy with God, giving Him the honor and space He deserves in our lives.
The call to pray through the watches is not a random one. Over the next eight days, I have been called to pray the watches as well. There must be a reason for this. I believe that God is stirring something in the spiritual realm — a divine purpose unfolding, not just for me, but for all of us. As we fast, as we pray at these specific hours, we invite God’s presence to intervene in our lives and in the lives of those around us.
And there is more to this journey. God has instructed me to teach His Word. Teaching is not just a responsibility — it is a sacred honor. As I stand here, I know that teaching His Word is a direct expression of my obedience to Him. For obedience is my love language to God. It is through this obedience that I show my love and devotion to Him, and it is through this act of following His instructions that His heart and His power are revealed.
As we prepare to enter this season of prayer and fasting, I encourage each of you to reflect on what God is speaking to your heart. This is not just a fast for personal growth, but a fast for spiritual breakthrough, for clarity, for deliverance, and for revival. Through the watches, we seek God’s wisdom, His protection, and His intervention in our lives, our families, our communities, and the world.
I know it can be difficult to set aside our time and our comforts, but let us remember that fasting and prayer are not sacrifices made in vain. God sees our hearts, and He honors our obedience. As we fast, we are not only drawing closer to God but also preparing ourselves to be vessels for His glory, to teach His Word, and to share His love with the world.
Let us come together in unity, as one body in Christ, committed to this fast and the prayer watches. May our hearts remain open, our spirits alert, and our faith unwavering, as we seek God with all that we are. The Lord is faithful, and He will meet us in these sacred moments.
In Jesus’ name
Amen
